No Homework Policy

  • No Homework Policy
The Policy

We do not set homework.

In keeping with our Finnish-inspired philosophy, the school day is designed to be sufficient. Learners instead receive occasional home projects that extend a thematic unit already under way – and every one of them is an invitation for a parent to sit beside a child and spend meaningful time together.

What we do instead

  • Home projects, not worksheets. Occasional creative tasks tied to the current unit, with goals shared with parents well in advance.
  • Light vacation work. During holidays, gentle assignments revisit the key concepts explored in class – enough to keep them warm, and light enough to leave the holiday intact.
  • Review without burden. We value reinforcement, and we keep the academic load at home light and manageable.
  • Hands-on by preference. Tasks favour making, observing and discussing over copying – the habits that quietly build curiosity, creativity and critical thinking.
A learner absorbed in a creative home project

Joyful, interactive, hands-on learning comes first – because children learn best when they love to learn.

In Practice

How a home project works

Three steps, and a family always knows what is expected before anything begins.

01

Shared in advance

Parents receive the activity goals, materials and timeline early, so families can plan ahead with ease.

02

Made together

The task is built to be done alongside a parent: a conversation, an experiment, a small piece of making that belongs to both of you.

03

Brought back to class

Work returns to the classroom to be presented and discussed, closing the loop between home and the unit being studied.
